Scalp Cooling

Keep your hair. Keep your confidence. Keep your smile.

For many people, the fear of losing hair during chemotherapy hurts as deeply as the diagnosis itself. At HOPE Oncology Clinic, we’re proud to offer EVA™ Scalp Cooling—a Made in India innovation by StemTech Medical Devices—to help reduce chemotherapy-related hair loss and protect what patients often describe as “my identity in the mirror.”

What Is EVA™ Scalp Cooling?

Scalp cooling gently lowers the temperature of the scalp before, during, and after chemotherapy. Cooling temporarily narrows scalp blood vessels, so fewer chemotherapy drugs reach hair follicles, helping reduce hair loss. EVA provides precise, controlled cooling with a comfortable cap system designed for real-world infusion settings.

Why We Chose EVA—For HOPE Patients

  1. Made in India, for India: Designed and supported locally, EVA is now adopted across leading Indian hospitals—a testament to quality, access, and serviceability.
  2.  Patient dignity at the center: EVA focuses on comfort, fit, and temperature accuracy—the small details that make a big difference on treatment days.
  3. A story of innovation & trust: Created by StemTech Medical Devices, EVA has been showcased nationally and internationally for its impact on supportive cancer care.

“Hair is more than hair—it’s identity, privacy, and strength. Preserving it helps our patients feel like themselves while they heal.”
Dr. Amish Vora, Medical Oncologist, HOPE Oncology Clinic

Who Can Benefit?

EVA can be considered for many patients receiving chemotherapy regimens known to cause alopecia (hair loss). Suitability depends on cancer type, drug regimen (e.g., taxanes vs. anthracyclines), schedule, and personal goals. Our team will guide you on expected benefit for your specific protocol and whether EVA is recommended alongside your treatment plan.

What To Expect On Treatment Day

  1. Pre-cooling (typically ~30 minutes): We fit the EVA cap snugly to ensure full scalp contact.
  2. During chemotherapy: The device maintains a stable, therapeutic temperature through your infusion.
  3. Post-cooling (often 60–90 minutes): Cooling continues briefly after infusion to protect follicles.
  4. Aftercare: We’ll share gentle hair-care tips (minimal heat, gentle combing, mild shampoos) to support results.

Note: Exact timings vary with regimen; your nurse will confirm your personalized schedule.

Comfort & Safety

Most patients tolerate EVA well. Some experience cold-related discomfort, headache, or feeling chilly—usually mild and transient. We provide blankets, warm beverages, and relaxation techniques to help you stay comfortable. EVA is non-invasive and designed for routine infusion workflows. (Your oncologist will review any contraindications, such as certain blood disorders or scalp conditions.

Results You Can Believe in

Global evidence shows that scalp cooling can significantly reduce hair loss for many regimens, especially when fit is optimal and cooling is started on time. Outcomes vary by chemotherapy type and individual biology; our team sets realistic expectations and monitors your progress each cycle.

Frequently Asked (reassuring) questions

Will I definitely keep all my hair?
No device can guarantee that. Many patients keep substantial hair and avoid full scalp hair loss; results depend on regimen and timing. We’ll discuss your specific likelihood during consent.

Does cooling delay chemo?
EVA runs alongside your infusion with planned pre- and post-cooling. We schedule it so your overall chair time is predictable.

Is it only for women?
No. All genders can benefit. For many women, preserving hair can be especially meaningful; we’re here for everyone who wishes to try.

Is EVA available near me?
Yes at HOPE Oncology Clinic (New Delhi)
